The lucky door raffle prizes were donated by Jackson drawing Supplies, a fabulous watercolour box, Deb and Peter hay, wine and Rosalie Richards a framed painting.
ACP's resident artist - Rhonda opened her studio for members to view and she has some fantastic works in progress. Rhonda also welcomes fellow artists to come along and share her space. If you are interested please contact Rhonda 0417 995 561.

Christmas Function
Thursday 11th December, 2008
A great night was had by all who attended the Arts-Culture-Peel Christmas function held at "Orient Expressions". Tim & Christine Bowden educated us on ancient Ming dynasty and other artifacts that they have collected from all over the world. Their shop is a virtual treasure trove. Tim also donated a spot prize and lucky Rosalie happened to be sitting on it! They also donated a raffle prize which was a beautiful red glass bowl.
Also donated for the night were a $50 voucher for terrace art framers, a $25 voucher for Jacksons Drawing and art supplies and a bottle of wine from Peter and Deb Hay.
Thank you to our wonderful sponsors.

Thank you to all members, guests and visitors who attended the March meeting.
We were treated to an enthusiastic and interesting speech from our host, Les Hodgson. Chair, Barbara Powell also declared the Pottery Place open.

There were some interesting "loved pieces" of pottery on display.

ACP 's new office Co-ordinator, Megan Anderson was introduced and Deb Hay gave a very entertaining recount of the recent Dream Harp workshop she also shared some history about this beautiful instrument.

A great night was had by all and a special thank you goes to Les and the Pottery Place for hosting this meeting/function.

Our next meeting will be held in June. Any suggestions for future venues are always welcome.

Annual General Meeting and Networking Function
20 September
Our AGM and networking function on 20 September at the wonderful new Falcon E-Library was a great night enjoyed by all who attended.

Many thanks to Alasdair Wardle for his assistance in arranging for ACP to hold the meeting at Library and for his informative tour of the facility.

Maggie Baxter fascinated the group with her presentation and we could have listened to her for much longer than was possible. Alongside her work as an Arts Coordinator and independent Curator, Maggie maintains her own arts practice with an emphasis on textiles, calligraphic drawing, collage, and installation. She has travelled to India on a regular basis to work since 1999 and has developed a distinctive amalgamation of contemporary art with the endless possibilities of the weaving, block printing and embroidery found in traditional Indian textiles. Maggie enthralled the meeting with her presentation and samples of her beautiful work.

Jane Tillson retired from the Board at the Meeting and was thanked for all her excellent work as Secretary.

The following Officers were re-appointed: Barbara Powell - Chair, Anne Bennetts - Vice-Chair and Deb Hay - Treasurer.

Two Board vacancies remain and we need a Secretary. Anyone interested in either position is welcome to contact Elaine Fisk on 9581 4407 for more information.

Finally, congratulations to the raffle winners:

Approximately 30 guests attended the 15 June meeting held at Edenvale in Pinjarra. Many thanks to Barbara Matters for her presentation about her journey developing her skills as a textile artist in hand painted silk, her passion for her art and her ambitions for the future - it was a truly inspirational presentation.
